About The Role

We are seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in hardware development and fluid systems engineering. This role is ideal for a creative and analytical professional/ student who has hands-on experience taking projects from an idea through testing and iteration. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and optimizing mechanical systems for our commercial pilot.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and test novel mechanical hardware and fluid systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate control systems, electronics, and software components.
  • Conduct hardware simulations using Solidworks or Ansys Simulation and real-world testing to validate designs.
  • Design of hardware for manufacture with the ability to create mechanical drawings to industry standards.
  • Hands-on experience with fluid systems, fittings, valves, pumps, pressure vessels and the ability to assemble and operate these systems safely.
  • Documentation of processes and procedures for hardware and fluid system design.
  • Strong Candidate will have a background in thermofluids and heat transfer with CFD simulation experience and experiment design.

Qualifications

  • Interns must be highly independent and be able to complete projects with little oversight.
  • Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor's of Mechanical Engineering (preferably at Sophomore/Junior level) or Master's degree in a related engineering discipline
  • Minimum GPA of 3.25.
  • Minimum 1 internship designing, manufacturing and testing mechanical hardware.
  • Must demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communications skills.
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects at the same time and have basic project management skills.
  • Safe work practices, proper ethics and attention to detail are required.
  • Highly Proficient at Solidworks or similar CAD package, designing parts for manufacture and integration into large assemblies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate technical concepts clearly.
  • Must have a can-do attitude with a desire to learn through rapid testing and iteration.
  • Passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
