Job Description
This is a senior leadership role for an exceptional operator who can lead efforts across government relations, capture, engagement, policy, and sales. This is not a middle-management role or a purely administrative role. Ideal candidates will have experience selling space products to the US Government, experience operating in classified programs, and helping to formulate future programs of record.
As the company grows, this role will have significant ownership and say in the development of the General Galactic product and mission fleet, and help to enable a multiplanetary future.
Responsibilities may include:
- Source, capturie, and secure business with the United States Government, including NASA, the Space Force, Space Command, NRO, and broader military and intelligence enterprise.
- Coordinate and lead briefings with government stakeholders and ensure counterparties are well-aware of General Galactic products
- Spearhead new programs and proposals for government customers
- Work with the business and customer-facing team to drive product decisions
- Maintain high-performing startup pace and quality of execution
- Maintain a strong culture around ownership, speed, high standards, and first-principles reasoning
Requirements
Successful applicants should have most of the following:
- 6+ years of experience in aerospace, defense, or other high-performance hardware/software companies
- Direct experience working with or for the United States government (including military service and contractor roles)
- Demonstrated ability to personally solve hard interpersonal problems and make sound decisions under uncertainty
- Successful previous wins of government programs and contracts
- Experience hiring or mentoring team members
