Job Description

The Facilities Manager will own the physical space where we design, build, and test our hardware. You will be responsible for a working space that blends office, lab, and industrial/test areas as we scale our operations and team size.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Manage day-to-day upkeep of aerospace facilities, including building and test facilities
  • Plan and execute office/lab buildout and reconfiguration as headcount grows
  • Own vendor relationships (landlord, contractors, janitorial, security, waste/hazmat disposal)
  • Support build and installation of aerospace test equipment, including major lifting and loading operations
  • Manage facility budget and track/approve related expenses
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA and Cal/OSHA workplace safety standards
  • Own emergency preparedness: fire safety, evacuation plans, first aid/AED stations
  • Manage badge/key access systems and visitor check-in procedures
  • Serve as primary point of contact for building security and landlord relationship
  • Manage office supplies, kitchen/pantry stock, and equipment procurement
  • Coordinate desk/workstation setup for new hires
  • Support internal event facility logistics
  • Manage facility-related software/tools (access control, visitor management)
  • Negotiate and manage service contracts

Requirements

  • 3+ years of facilities management experience, ideally in a startup, lab, or manufacturing/hardware environment, aerospace experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of building systems and vendor management
  • Familiarity with OSHA workplace safety standards
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving, resource-constrained environment
  • Strong organizational and vendor-negotiation skills
  • Ability to lift/move equipment and be on your feet regularly
